I have been a keen photographer ever since owning my first camera, a Kodak Brownie 127, at the age of nine. Since then I have continued to develop my interest, initially doing my own black and white processing at home and later learning the techniques of colour processing and studio portraiture.
I joined the RAF as a pilot at the age of eighteen and found plenty of opportunity to pursue my interest in photography, having access to excellent club facilities and subject matter. I spent twenty years in the RAF flying mainly Harriers but the highlight was the three years I spent flying for the Red Arrows aerobatic team. The photographs below were taken by me from a Red Arrows Hawk during formation training overhead RAF Kemble in Gloucestershire. On this occasion I was not at the controls!
At present I combine my job as a commercial airline pilot with my work as a professional photographer, specialising in weddings.
